Taking a break, but watch this space!

Red July 4th, 2009 5 Comments

Hey everyone,

It’s about time I announced what may already be painfully obvious: I’m taking a break from Walkingisoverrated.com. Not forever, just for a little while. Time to recharge my batteries, brush up in some other areas of my life, and work on a brand new project, which could be even more exciting than this!

So if I don’t update for a while, don’t panic. It won’t be long before you hear from me again, I promise ;)

In the meantime, you can Facebook or follow me on Twitter.

Catch you all soon :)

Hey, Red, sad to see you go, but will be good to see you back again one day. Have fun. Honor K.

  2. OK most accessable city I've been to VEGAS 4sure, it's 1 big concreate jungle and just totally geared up, wchairs everywhere, least accesable Java Indonesa, mainly attitudes, got followed by small crowds throwing rubbish and imatating my cp. As for paying someone to go with you, na don't. Find someone who's all ready travelling somewhere and go with them. You'll meet heaps of people, on the way and you can vary travel plans as you go.That's what I did when I was 21, went with a friend through Indonesia left them in bangkok, went to London hooked up with other friends. Just make sure you have some money to get back home! Was I in danger?yeah, sure sometimes , But travel is meant to be an adventure, isn't it? I find accesible tourism very interesting and I'm going to the international congress on accesible tourism later on this year in Vienna

Cya Red – btw, just looked at some of those photos from your Henderson Transport Centre trip, the one that starts with the scarey escalator pic – v dodgy colour scheme goin on there, I've got good vision and it took me a while to spot that there were comments written above each photo! Good pics though :)

Hey, I only just came across your site by way of doing a search on Soph (weird cuz I've been friends with her since she was 12 but aaanyway). Coool, I like it.

I got a weird email kind of like that one from that woman you got but slightly more offensive… this girl told me her boyfriend hated me because I'd been to the Paralympics and so I was a retard, and lower than his standards… soo being the easily wound up email-respondent that I am, I wrote back and said I felt bad that she didn't know the difference between being a retard and having been to the Paralympics… she THEN said that she knew "all about" the Paralympics from a nutrition class at Otago. Hmm… sounds like it.

Anyway since you haven't updated your site in months you probably won't read this anyway, haha.

    Peace yo.

    In case anyone reads this…

I'm currently in my third year studying Occupational Therapy, and am doing an assignment critiquing part of the NZ Disability Strategy. My focus is on the barriers to inclusive physical education in primary schools and I'm after a parent with a disabled child who wouldn't mind sharing their experiences.

Please email me if you can help me out!
