Disabled American sues businesses for a living

Bloody hell. Take a look at the video below, which chronicles a guy from California who makes a living out of suing businesses who don’t comply with building regulations around the Americans with Disabilities Act. I truly don’t know what to say.

I'm moving to Calidfornia! LMAO! I'm not so sure we need to go this far but at least there is a way to make sure people comply (unlike here)For NZ to offer suing compensation is a whole other topic but I've always maintained it would only take one or two high profile cases to have an effect of the majority of places complying with legislation. The odds of getting the right to sue here are remote, 1 because of cost and 2 look how difficult it has been on the Equity For Illness front. He seems a little extreme ((the guy in Venice Beach offered to help him in and he was like "He can't touch me! but I could sue." WTF?)but generally I get his point. Once sued does he actually go back and use these places? As for the lawyer saying places should have a chance to fix things – I say they did, at the very start and didn't do it! BTW can anyone explain to me what is the use of the grab rail right BEHIND the toilet? L shaped I get, but not the ones behind????
Dang!! Guess he won't need a benefit then.
They need to review there building regulations by the sounds of it, here in NZ new buildings have to be accessible by Law.
LOL Rachel I too want to know why a grab rail is needed behind a toilet. Unless some people don't sit on the loo front wards and sit side on facing the L shape rail..weird
I guess in a way he could be worse. He only sues places he actually wants to use. But then again, he's not really advocating for ALL disableds if he does that?
Meh. Can't really say much coz I'm not in a wheelchair and I don't know how little things to me (like the height of the paper towel dispenser) can make life so complicated for others.
wow i dunno wat to say.. maybe itd be different if he had a job but hes making all of his money from suing people it doesnt seem right..
