Review: Re-Li-On-Us Mobility Taxis
I’ve written about Auckland’s Re-Li-On-Us Mobility Taxis before, who are – in my humble opinion – the best mobility taxi option around, but as part of our latest iPod competition, here are Saphiya’s thoughts…
- They have a toll-free number – 0800 025 999
- I especially liked the service as it was appreciating and was naturally friendly.
- ARTA’s Total Mobility swipe card is accepted.
- Easy to get in and out of vehicle.
- Saw that there was a first aid pack and a fire-fighting apparatus so that was reassuring!
- The best service that we have used yet but we used as a group (8 of us) but the cost was only okay as we had to pay an extra $100.
I checked upon their website www.relionus.co.nz so that I could find out more to boast about other than the service, and saw that that apart from their trained drivers and wheelchair lifts they had WAY more to offer. Take a look.
They also have a GPS system so that when we book a cab the nearest vehicle is booked for a faster and more convenient service – but I would recommend to book prior to save any hassle.
It can also be arranged for an air-conditioned vehicle, female driver, bilingual driver, and animal transport.
So for us, the only downside was the cost!

Nice review Saphiya
and its good to see some first aid in taxis.
But I've had very mixed feelings about this Taxi Company. I've used this service along with a friend of mine and for me, I've found them sometimes unreliable, rude, take the long route instead of the quickest which affects cost, there tie down system isn't great for more than 1 wheelchair in any van and I've had to tell the driver to 'fold up' the fold down seat in the back so that my friend can wheel in more closer to let me in. If they were trained enough surely they would know this when taking more than 1 wheelchair.
I'm not too sure how good the GPS system is for bookings as this can cause lateness on the Taxi part or even turning up early and rushing the person who ordered the taxi. I guess this is some of my un-realiable complaint towards there service.
This new guy who is a 'one van band' called "www.supercare4u.com", based in Mt Eden so no guilt over sending a van from Manukau just to go into the city and no 'flagfall' before you get started, and he's prompt, keen and seems dedicated to his new business. Phone Anthony – 630 2060.
Supercare4u.com now has a second van and are well on thier way, all drivers have a St John first aid certificate and operate seven days a week, they even have a loyalty card system which makes the sixth ride free. You can book online at Supercare4u.com
I can vouch for Relionus….and I believe they have recently changed ownership and the service is very much improved…the new owner is a Canadian guy and his wife…spent a long time talking with him as he was filling in for one of his drivers….very reliable and friendly too.
