And the pint-sized swimming machine keeps on rolling - Sophie Pascoe has won another medal at the Beijing Paralympics, a gold medal in the women’s 200m medley - a fantastic result! She won the race with a time of 2 minutes 35 seconds, blitzing the field with her closest rival a further four seconds behind.
“I don’t know what to say. I gave it everything out there. I’m too tired to think or say anything. It’s so fantastic to win,” she said.
This is young Sophie’s 3rd medal, following on from the gold she won in the women’s 100m breaststroke, and the silver medal she won in the women’s 100m butterfly.
In other Paralympics news, NZ shooter Michael Johnson has scored a bronze medal in the men’s 10m Air Rifle Standing event, and Paula Teseriero has followed up her gold medal with a bronze in the women’s individual pursuit at the Beijing validrome.
Awesome stuff guys!
