Have your say on Auckland City access!

June 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Auckland City Council logoOkay team, I’ll keep this brief - if you live in Auckland and are passionate about access issues, then a research team want to hear from you! Prepare yourself for the pitch blurb, it reads like this:

The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is working in partnership with independent research company Bennett and Bijoux Ltd to conduct research about what it is like living with disability in Auckland City.

The research is being conducted on behalf of the Local Government Centre at AUT University, Auckland City Council, Auckland District Health Board and Waitakere City Council to examine the location, movement, strengths, capabilities, needs and aspirations of disabled people who live in Auckland City.

The study will help the research partners to improve the wellbeing of disabled Aucklanders and will contribute to the development and purchase of programmes and services in the future.

If you’re interested, you must register your interest by Friday at the very latest by emailing Denise Bijoux and saying hey, I’d like to be part of the focus groups!

Hope all you Aucklanders jump on this bandwagon, long live democracy!

I commend you and your efforts. I would be a part of this in a heart beat if I lived in NZ. I am going through so many issues in the USA right now just trying to rent a car that a wheel chair will fit in and renting hotel rooms.
