Been to Wellington? Talk to us!

Red March 7th, 2008 2 Comments

I’ve been contacted by a research manager from a Polytechnic in Greymouth, who is making a presentation to the Wellington City Council, and wants to know the answer to the following question: What’s it like to journey through Wellington with a disability? We’re talking hotels, motels, footpaths, public facilities (art galleries, movie theatres, etc.), tourist attractions (cable car, anyone?) – anything at all! I saw that the ticket prices ranged from $89.90 and $150, but I was shocked to discover that the only wheelchair-accessible seating was priced between $125-$150! So not only were wheelchair users asked to stump up at least $35/ticket more
