Parapaumu woman ‘Sheryl’. Source: stuff.co.nz“Where’s the money, bitch” is all a Paraparaumu woman heard from two teenagers who confronted her on Saturday, and who then damaged her brand new power chair. She had a poster on the back of her chair, advertising for Guide Dog Service volunteers, which she thinks may have led the attackers to believe she was collecting funds. Her brand new, $60,000 wheelchair was shoved around, and then the boys ripped the tilt mechanism off.

“They had been drinking – I could smell the alcohol. I just froze, I did not know if one of them had a knife. I just said I did not have any money, I did not want to provoke them.”

This is terrible, I live in this area and one just never know? I lived in Africa for 20 yrs and came home to get away from this sort of thing.
