Listen up! If you haven’t heard of Re-Li-On-Us Mobility Transport and you use a wheelchair to get around, particularly a power chair, then read this. It will change your life. I kid you not.

Re-Li-On-Us TaxiRe-Li-On-Us are the new mobility taxi company in town, with a difference. They are 24/7, which is particularly important given recent events. They are also, as the name aptly suggests, reliable. Case in point: I needed to attend a Christmas function in town last night, but it was raining, and I couldn’t really be bothered catching a bus and getting all wet. So I decided to take a punt and give these guys a call. Bear in mind it was 5pm on a Thursday night, and it was pouring. I wasn’t expecting much.

Ready?

They arrived at my place within 15 minutes of me placing the call. Crazy. For those of you who have tried booking a wheelchair hoist taxi before, you’ll know that the operator will often tell you to book 2-3 days in advance. 15 minutes?! Unheard of!

As if timeliness and availability wasn’t enough, their team of drivers are all really friendly and helpful, none of this roughshod and ineptitude I’ve come to expect from Auckland taxi drivers. They have spare wheelchairs available if needed, first aid kits on board, they even have EFTPOS facilities! Of course, Re-Li-On-Us accept Total Mobility cards, CP Society Vouchers, you can even start an account with them and pay at the end of the month.

I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Gary and his team of drivers, they do a fantastic job and fill a huge service gap within the disabled community. I can now get where I want, when I want, no matter how drunk I am! Fantastic.

Make sure you check out their website, or give them a buzz on 0800 025 999.
