“If you dream it and believe it, you can achieve it”.
This is the motto of motivational speaker and track champion Cameron Calkoen, so it’s no surprise that he’s the one behind the revolutionary step in the world of mentoring, a programme he’s dubbed “Carabiner”.
Carabiner is a mentoring project developed in conjunction with the North Shore LIFE Centre, and aims to contribute towards a society where young people with disabilities are optimistic about the future, and are supported and encouraged to take up challenges. By pairing enthusiastic young people from all over Auckland with leaders in their field of choice, Carabiner will encourage and support disabled youth to reach their pinnacle and enhance their lives.
Sounds pretty cool huh? Well at the moment, the Carabiner team is getting set to run a pilot of the programme, and are looking for enthusiastic, motivated young people with any sort of impairment to help give them a kick start in their chosen career, or even helping them with things like building social skills.
This is an awesome opportunity to get hooked up with some of Auckland’s most influential and high-flying individuals, and let them work with you to achieve whatever goals you may have in your life.
If you’re keen to get involved, you can email Cam, or download the Carabiner information sheet to find out more.
