Blind FoundationSee, in my frantic desperation to complete my 2500-word essay by tomorrow, I completely forgot that the RNZFB’s Blind Appeal Week kicked off yesterday! I know, shocking, but I’m making up for it now so let it go ;P

The foundation has approximately 12,000 members which it helps with a range of things, from translating text into braille, daily living assistance, and much much more.

There’s plenty of ways you can help out: become a volunteer, help collect at your local supermarket, or TXT BLIND to 469 to make an automatic $3 donation.

To read more about the services the foundation provides, click through to their website, and make sure you support this worthy cause!

Hey Red, Are you reinforcing the Charity Model of Disability?? Especially the “bucket” method!! Is it DEGRADING?? It doesn’t do anything to promote citizenship and an inclusive society. Just a thought or two

    Hey Matt,

I’m not reinforcing anything, just making people aware of things going on. If they want to donate, that’s their call, I’m certainly not pushing it.

And hey, what’s wrong with people giving money to an organisation that helps and supports so many people?!

    Hey Red,
Thanks for replying to my comment. Hopefully you didn’t take my comments personally. There is absolutely nothing wrong giving money to an organisation, it’s the way an organisation solicits it is the thing in question. It is a really good thing to debate! Red. This is an awesome site, keep it up. Pat yourself on the back. A big cheers, Matt
